Hi. I'm S.E. Want a glimpse into my world? Well come on in. I'm a visual artist who enjoys painting the world I see and feel in abstracts. To me, putting paint to canvas is like diving into a swirling sea filled with thoughts, beauty and mystery. It's etching out life in its raw, unfiltered, unfinished form. How amazing to express memories with a brilliant gold or a moody deep burgundy that slices across the horizon. As I step into my painting coveralls, I can feel a thrill within me building. I enter the chilly garage studio and prepare the paints as the room warms up. The blank canvas stands before me on its easel. It's both terrifying and enticing as I mix the paints. Neither music nor an audience are necessary. Not here. There’s already something resembling a drumbeat, a rhythm drawing me into another realm. Sometimes, the creative process can drive me to distraction, while at other times, it ignites inspiration like wildfire, and I suddenly lose track of six, seven hours in an instant. There's nothing as satisfying as the end of a long successful paint day! Ahhh!
The artwork you see today was primarily created using acrylics. They're my preferred medium at this time because they dry quickly, allowing me to layer, smudge, drip, and scrape to my heart's content. I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to look at my work and I thank you for your support for my passion. Each of us, I believe has something valuable to offer. Find your enthusiasm and use your talents, whatever they may be. Big, small, who cares, just do it with love till your last breath and you'll find joy.
