Exploring different techniques and colors fascinates me. From the moment I rise and put on my painting coveralls, the thrill within and around me builds up like clouds gathering before a storm. I enter the chilly garage studio and prepare the paints as the room warms up. I'm there because I notice a color or shape that I must capture on canvas. I don’t turn up the music or seek an audience. Not here. There’s already something resembling a drumbeat, a rhythm drawing me into another realm. Sometimes, the creative process can distract me, while at other times, inspiration ignites like wildfire, and I lose track of six hours in an instant. The artwork you see today was primarily created using acrylics. I prefer them because they dry quickly, allowing me to layer, smudge, drip, and scrape to my heart's content. To me, abstraction is about achieving balance. Regardless of the emotions portrayed, I want each piece to endeavor to reach a unique kind of harmony.
