Meditations on Fire

I have no formal art training, and perhaps that’s precisely why this painting came to be. During a turbulent summer in my late forties, I plunged into an intense creative frenzy and felt no need to follow traditional rules—I simply had to release the emotion. Although it was only my third abstract work, I set aside my paintbrushes almost entirely. “Mediations on Fire” was made with paper towels, which I used to drag, smear, and layer deep blacks and vivid reds. Its rough, unpredictable textures evoke a fierce blaze reflected across a dark lake at midnight, capturing a moment when creating felt utterly raw and instinctive.

This artwork is hand-painted with professional-grade acrylics on premium canvas, resulting in a distinctive, exhibition-worthy finish.
